Elwood-John H. Glenn High School freshman softball pitcher Addison Lawrence continues to establish herself as one of the area’s top young softball players, recording 275 career strikeouts over the past two seasons while competing at the varsity level.

Making her varsity debut as an eighth grader, Lawrence reached the 100-strikeout milestone and followed it up with another standout campaign this spring. She recorded 134 strikeouts and eight wins this season after finishing with 141 strikeouts last year.

Her performance has placed her among the region's best pitchers, ranking 11th in Suffolk County and 21st on Long Island this season. Looking ahead, Lawrence hopes to continue her softball career at the collegiate level.

“Addison’s been great for us over the last two years,” head coach Vinny Wilson said. “She’s dominant in the circle every single game, and she’s someone I know I can rely on day in and day out. To perform at the highest level at such a young age is very impressive, and I am excited to see her journey for the rest of her career here.”

“There’s a direct correlation between our softball team getting into the playoffs and the emergence of a lot of young new talent,” Athletic Director Dave Shanahan said. “Addison is doing a great job pitching, and great pitching really helps you win.”
